If you have a bad leak, turn off the stopcock if you can do so safely. Move towels, valuables and electrical items away from the water. If the leak is from a toilet, tap or under-sink pipework, avoid using that fitting until it has been checked.
A quick photo can help me understand what has failed, especially with stopcocks, tap connections, toilet cistern parts and under-sink leaks.
